I was inspired from the moment I first flipped through it. Taunton publications never fail to deliver. Every plan is elegant, lush, and do- able. The photos make you want to pull on the gloves and head right out the door. Obviously some money was poured into these projects but if a person took any one of these plans and integrated even part of them, or went about it as it became affordable, their yards would be measurably improved. I haven't finished reading the text yet, but I do appreciate the wealth of detail the authors have disclosed, whether it be about specific plants, soil type, structures, their own motivations, etc, etc. Being a new and untalented gardener, I feel I am being led by the hand and I am happy to be told exactly what to do and what plants to use until I am educated enough to make these choices for myself. I also am happy that using these plans will give my garden a sophistication I personally don't possess as a gardener yet . In case it wasn't obvious, this is already one of my favorite gardening books.
